Nanortalik, Greenland (Day 8)
Sunny day, but chilly outside. Walked all over the city and went to a local choir and dance in the Culture Center. Again, the people are very friendly. This place gets frozen in during the winter (only accessible by air). Here's my best iceberg pic, a pic of little girl and dog outside the market, and the dancers. A funeral was happening today, so the church was closed to the public (Snaped a pic of the cemetery by the sea and the procession through the main street in town). Next stop is Iceland (Land of Fire and Ice), where "cod is king"!

are they related to eskmo's, from Alaska
ReplyDeleteFrom what I gather, Inuit is now the politically correct term for Eskimo.
ReplyDeleteActually, Wikipedia says: In Canada and Greenland, the term Eskimo has fallen out of favour, as it is considered pejorative by the natives and has been replaced by the term Inuit.
